Heidi Montag is itching to get back on reality TV so much so that The Hills alum believes she could be an asset to Bravo’s Real Housewives franchise. Her hubby, Spencer Pratt, agrees and thinks Heidi would “upstage” everyone on the Real Housewives.
While chatting with The Hollywood Reporter about the duo’s new podcast, Speidi’s 16th Minute, Heidi admitted that she believes Andy Cohen is the reason why she hasn’t been successful in joining the Real Housewives to date.
“I think so. He made a statement a while ago that he would never want me on it and that I wasn’t for their franchise, but I think that he’s so wrong,” Heidi said.
She continued, “I don’t know if he’s just a Lauren [Conrad] fan or what, because I would think that he would appreciate the reality star that I am. I completely make sense to be on one of these shows. Maybe before when I was younger that didn’t quite make sense. But I’m 37 now, and as a mama too, I could easily go on Orange County or Beverly Hills.”
Back in 2011, Heidi tweeted that she’d love to join the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Andy reacted to Heidi’s tweet on Watch What Happens Live, calling The Hills alum “trash … I would sooner stab … knives into my own eyes than see her on this network.” He also dubbed Heidi the “Jackhole of the Week.”
Heidi fired back calling Andy’s comments “tasteless” and “hurtful and completely unnecessary.” Andy later agreed, telling PEOPLE, “There had been so many rumors going on about the Housewives last week, I think I was at the tipping point, basically. I guess I got a little carried away.”
As for Spencer, he thinks Heidi might be too polarizing for Real Housewives.
“I think the quote I’ve heard used before, and I think it’s a compliment, is ‘Heidi’s too polarizing for some of these shows.’ She’d upstage. I know that’s my love for her, but I truly think she’d upstage all these basic ladies,” he quipped.
