The Real Housewives of New York reboot is officially a hit. Bravo fans are loving this new iteration of the New York Housewives franchise. While some fans are boycotting and hating on the RHONY reboot the majority of fans are enjoying getting to know the new, New York Housewives.
The beauty of this new RHONY cast is its diversity in everything from its backgrounds to where the Housewives live in New York City to their marital statuses, ages, and more. It is an excellent representation of authentic New York, unlike the OG RHONY cast, which mainly consisted of women living on the Upper East Side. No shade. I love love love the OG RHONY cast and will forever be grateful for all the fantastic years we got with them on Bravo. However, I am also truly loving the reinvention of the RHONY franchise.
Naturally, I have my favorites within the cast. TBH, I am really enjoying all of the ladies, mostly because they are all so different, which I love. But I am enjoying some more than others.
Here are my favorite to least favorite RHONY cast members – so far:
Jenna Lyons
Umm…she’s fabulous and has amazing style. Her apartment is to die for and I don’t think she’s clamoring for more fame. She’s just happy to be herself and show her life on the show. I think Jenna is such an icon, especially if you’re a fashion lover. It’s great to get to know her better and get a glimpse at her life – even if she’s only slowing peeling back the layers.
Brynn Whitfield
Beyond Jenna, Brynn Whitfield has to be my favorite member of the RHONY cast. She’s just so fun and gorgeous! I definitely think Brynn is going to be the breakout star of the franchise. While Brynn I have such different backgrounds, I feel like I relate to her so much as a single girl in my 30s. I give Brynn a lot of credit for opening up about her very difficult childhood on the show.
Erin Lichy
Erin Lichy is definitely the glue that is holding this cast together. It seems that Erin is the one who is friendly with all the ladies in the group. She’s super grounded and I think it’s all because she grew up in NYC. Erin grew up with that typical rich girl NYC life – private schools, summers in the Hamptons (her parents have a home there) and so on. IMO, Erin just feels the closest to the old school RHONY cast.
Sai de Silva
I love that Bravo hired an influencer/content creator to be apart of the RHONY reboot cast. Influencing is such a huge part of our society these days with the popularity of social media. It is interesting to get a look behind the curtain at the life of a successful influencer. Sai is beautiful and super talented/creative. She’s built a successful brand and lives a gorgeous life. I am really enjoying everything she’s bringing to the show so far – especially her quippy comments and shade towards Erin.
Ubah Hassan
Ubah Hassan brings humor and levity to the show. She gives me major Sonja Morgan vibes without the excessive drinking. Not only is Ubah stunning and fashionable; she’s a businesswoman with a budding venture that I think is about to pop off thanks to the show. I could totally see Ubah being that New York Housewife to have a Bethenny Frankel-esque business success. I need Ubah to have more screen time for sure.
Jessel Taank
Ahhh, last but not least is Jessel Taank. While Jessel is coming in as my least favorite RHONY newbie so far – that doesn’t mean I’m not a fan. I really like Jessel and think she’s got a good story to tell. She’s clearly connected and successful in her career plus, her babies are so cute. However, she’s coming off just a bit meh. It’s like she’s trying too hard or trying to be too contrived about her life. I dunno. I love her snark and bitchiness. It’s fun – I don’t mind it at all because it creates petty drama. I am curious to see her evolution throughout the season.
