If you’re an OG Bravo fan you have probably wondered if you have what it takes to be cast on the Real Housewives.
According to Andy Cohen, it takes a very special combination to become a successful and long lasting Real Housewives star.
“Someone who is willing to be open, live their life fully in front of the camera, someone with a point of view, someone hopefully who’s got a sense of humor or at least is funny or humorous, or different in some way,” Andy told Real Housewives of Atlanta OG NeNe Leakes on Watch What Happens Live in 2014.
He continued, “You know will have something to say. [They] won’t be run over and will open their lives up to the camera and share something we haven’t seen.”
Then in 2015, Andy expanded on what Bravo looks for when casting women.
“We cast very highly volatile, emotional, driven, opinionated women, and because of that, they go to town! And you sit down with them at the end of the season and they all have it out with each other… It’s really fun. Needless to say, wallflowers should not apply,” Andy told Attitude in 2015, adding that the network loves to hire friends, enemies, and even family of current cast members because it is so much more organic.
“The show works so well because it’s all people who have long histories with each other. So it’s not just throwing people together in a Big Brother house and seeing what happens,” he added.
