Do you Remember the Ashley Madison x Real Housewives Scandal?

Real Housewives of New York alums Kristen and Josh Taekman cozy up to each other on date night following Ashley Madison scandal

Let’s throw it back to the sumemr of 2015, when Real Housewives of New York star Kristen Taekman and her husband, Josh Taekman, found themselves in the spotlight thanks to the Ashley Madison scandal.

I recently watched the Hulu/ABC New documentary, ‘The Ashley Madison Affair’ and it got me thinking about the Josh Taekman of it all. In the documentary, the profile of former 19 Kids and Counting star Josh Duggar was discussed but there was no mention of Josh Taekman’s profile on the cheating site.

In August 2015, the Bravoverse was rocked when news broke that Kristen’s husband, Josh Taekman, was a member of the cheating website, Ashley Madison.

Josh initially denied having a profile on Ashley Madison however it was later revealed that he went by the alias “Mr. Big NYC.” Dudeee, you are no Mr. Big.

The Daily Mail was the first to break the news of Josh’s Ashley Madison profile. Kuddos to them for digging up the dirt.

According to Josh’s Ashley Madison profile, he was “Looking to enjoy the finer things life has to offer.”

The then 46-year-old wanted a woman who was “engaged socially and intellectually.” On his profile, Josh added: ‘No stress and no pressure.’

Josh reportedly shared 33 private photos on Ashley Madison and paid for 62 transactions.

At the time, Josh publicly apologized, claiming that he “foolishly” signed up for the cheating website as a joke with his friends. Sure, Jan. Records show that Josh used the site every month from May 2012 to June 2014 after initially signing up for the site in June 2011.

“I deeply apologized for any embarrassment or pain I have brought to my wife and family,” Josh told PEOPLE in an August 2015 statement, “We both look forward to moving past this and getting on with our lives.”

Turns out Josh’s wife Kristen never believed that profile was a joke.

“Kristen is extremely embarrassed and upset over thinking [Josh] was having affairs,” the source told PEOPLE. “As of now she is being her own P.I. and investigating. She’s looking through phone records and asking him questions. She doesn’t believe him. His story keeps changing.”

The RHONY alums tied the knot in 2004 and share two children together: Cassius and Kingsley.

Despite the scandal, Josh and Kristen still remain married to this day. In 2020, Josh and Kristen left New York City and relocated to Los Angeles.

I’m glad to see that Kristen and Josh were able to work through this blip in their marriage but I can’t imagine the embarrassment Kristen felt when Josh’s Ashley Madison profile surfaced. I’ve always been a big Kristen fan. She honestly deserved more time on RHONY and could have really been a great Housewife, IMO. So, looking forward to seeing her on RHUGT: RHONY Legacy.
